Doddie and Jeff…what can I say. They are practically family at this point. They have been “dating” for more years than I even know. Jeff is my good friend’s father and Doddie is his wife, or it least that’s what I thought. They have been living to together for 15+ years so I just always assumed they were married.
They finally decided to make it official and I was honored to be there to photograph this occasion.
The chosen venue was the beautiful Crystal Lake Lodge in Woodenville Washington, sitting right on the edge of a little lake in a private gated community. Doddie was so excited to tell me about her venue and immediately pulled up the “Four Weddings” episode on TLC that featured the lodge.
Oh the lodge. I’m really trying to think of the words that could put into perspective how beautiful this place is. What’s not to love about having your ceremony inside a beautiful building with a lake right on the other side of the wall.
This wedding was a blast; there was a fantastic Photo Booth that spit out shots right there that people could take home, absolutely delicious food and desserts, and an amazing DJ. I remember when Doddie told me she’d found this amazing DJ and she was so excited to have booked him. He had EVERYONE out there shaking it!
It was a long day coming for these two to make it official but it was worth the wait. I don’t think their was a dry eye in the place, including the groom as he said his vows while looking into the eyes of the woman that he’s already loved for over a decade.
