I’ve been really looking forward to photographing Brie and Kyle’s wedding. Brie is the daughter of Sarah’s former boss. I think shooting weddings for people you know ahead of time is so much fun as you can relate to more than just a business relationship (even though we do try to meet up a couple of times with all our clients before the big day for this very reason).

I was also super excited to shoot in their chosen venue, Russell’s Loft in Bothell, as I’d never been there before but had seen some beautiful images from there. The venue is actually a large old barn that has been converted into a fantastic restaurant below and an event venue above. The massive, arched ceiling and impressive rafters adds such a flare to the images. Although the very tall ceiling posed some problems regarding lighting, we had no problem creating some amazing images.
Other than the venue, I think the highlight of the evening was the dueling pianos that were brought in for entertainment. With requesting flying in of both old and new music, and Jeff and Rhiannon from Noteworthy Production killin’ it on their pianos, the dance floor was pretty active.
The whole night was capped off by everyone going outside, being given two HUGE sparklers (they lasted about 4-5 minutes each), and forming a sparkling tunnel for the newlyweds to walk down toward their awaiting limo.
It was such a fun wedding and Sarah and I are both so happy for Brie and Kyle!
