About eight months ago, I shared with my buddy Mat that Sarah and I were expecting. Well this is when he told me that, surprise, he and his girlfriend were expecting also. In fact they were about a month further along than we were.

Of course I was delighted when they asked about a month before she was born if I would do her newborn pictures. My answer was a very energetic, “Yes!”.

On the scheduled day, Sarah and I went over to their place with all our gear in tow. Sarah was literally ready to pop and could go into labor at any point so we had to be aware that we might have to bolt out of the shoot to head to the hospital. Spoiler alert; she did NOT go into labor during the shoot (despite the crying that went in).

Mat and Danielle’s baby, Sloane, was adorable. However, despite our best efforts to keep her comfort with warm temperatures (including a hair drier blowing on her), she still didn’t appreciate us poking and prodding her as well as getting her naked. I will say that she didn’t pee or poop on me which means I’m still perfect on that. I’ve had to “matrix” a pee before but have yet to get anything on me. I know my days are numbered though.

After Danielle spent a healthy Mount o gimme feeding her and calming her down, Sloane gave us a small window of opportunity which we capitalized on.
