A good friend of ours, Sunny, recently contacted me about doing a maternity shoot. After figuring out an extremely tight schedule we were able to make it happen. You see, we were able to shoot on this past Saturday and Sunny was scheduled to be induced just 4 days later! I Told you it was a tight timeline.
I met up with Sunny and her husband Jeff at Picnic Point in Edmonds Washington about an hour before sunset. After making our way down to the beach (remember we have a nine month pregnant person here), we scouted a shooting location and quickly got going to take advantage of the waning light. Like most maternity Sunny was unsure of how to pose in the beginning but after a little coaching and warming up, she was pro.
We had perfect weather down by the water. Not too hot, not too cold. Jeff was the moral support and blanket holder in the beginning of the shoot but soon enough we got him in there. Even though I love images of just mommy and belly, I really liked many of the shots with both of them, err all three of them.
Actually as I type this, Sunny might be having little Theo. Sarah and I are waiting on word for a status update and I don’t know if we’ll take off to the hospital or what. That is the magic and chaos surrounding having a child, especially your first one. I’ll be going through that here in about 2 months.
In the end, we came out with some great shots that I’m really happy with and I know Sunny and Jeff are also. I’m still amazed and thankful that we were able to pull it off and such a tight timeline. Thank you so much Sunny and Jeff and I wish only the best for you in the coming months.
