This shoot is from quite awhile ago and as I’m just catching up on my blogging, I knew I would get to this one eventually. Last summer Marilyn asked if I would photograph her and her mother. There were two goals of the session, to capture some great images of her mother and her together, and to capture some images of Marilyn by herself that she could use for promoting her music lessons.

Marilyn wanted the photographs taken in her back yard which was perfectly fine with me. She has a beautiful back yard that they spent quite a bit of time landscaping to look just right. It has already been host to many parties, graduation photos, pre-dance pictures, as well as at least one wedding that I know of.

Marilyn is very proud of her garden and wanted to emphasize her flowers. I tried to keep them in most shots while framing and using depth of field to still draw your eyes to the subject(s) of the photographs. I’m really happy with the images that came from this session and Marilyn and her Mother both loved them as well.
