Wedding Tip Wednesday – Mental Pictures

Best wedding tips for brides - Mexican bride looking out in seattle This is actually a second hand tip that was given to my wife right before we got married. I have since borrowed this tip and tell all of my brides this same thing.

Your wedding day will go by faster than you can even imagine. Think about how when you’re at work, and it’s a slow day, the time just seems to drag on and on. It seems like quitting time never gets any closer. Now think of the opposite, the days that you’re so busy that the end of the day comes before you even had time to look at the clock. This is one of the best wedding tips for brides that I love!

In this sense, a wedding is very much like a busy work day. A very busy, very long, work day. From the moment you wake up until the moment you leave the reception, you are going non-stop. Even when you’re not doing anything yourself (EG getting your hair and makeup done), you’re still thinking about all the different things that need to be done.

That was a lot of words just to get my point across that your wedding day goes by in a blink 🙂

Ok, on to the actual tip. While you will have a photographer (or two, or three) and maybe a videographer (or two, or three, or four, or…) these professionals are capturing your day from the perspective of looking in on you and your day. We of course can not capture it from your eyes and what you see. While we do everything we possibly can to capture the day as complete as possible, we might miss that funny thing that Uncle Lloyd just did, or when you were called over by your work mates to do a shot with them, or when your husband whispered that sweet thing to you while you were waiting to be introduced as man and wife for the first time to your waiting reception guest.

Mental pictures, mind snapshots, brain photos, whatever you want to call them, try to consciously remember some of these key memories. Just take 1 second here and there to think about how great your life is to have so many people come together and celebrate with you. These will be some of your most favorite memories of your entire life.
